Linda Cooney trained at the Stanhope Institute, the New York League of Art Students and the City Lit, in London. She has exhibited twice at the Tannery in London. In Camden Town (she got a smashing review in the Ham and High newspaper). Also, locally in Essex. Her adored father, Spencer Dixon, was a successful professional painter for over 60 years and Linda says, “I can’t remember a time when I haven’t painted, sketched and ‘played’ with Art.”

Linda loves bright, daft colours, adores Hockney, Hodgkin, Matisse and Vlaminck – and says she probably steals from them all! She admits she has only one ambition in her career, “I try not to be boring.”

Linda is married to the playwright Ray Cooney.
